Dr. Madye Henson serves as Principal of CentricIMPACT (CI), an innovative, mission-centered consulting and support services firm. With over thirty years of experience in reaching results that impact organizational goals and strategies, Madye stepped back into the role of cross-sector leadership with a distinguished reputation for building strong relationships. She is known as a visionary and strategic thinker with capacity-building and organizational management skills that have enhanced the teams she’s led within the business, education, and nonprofit sectors. Throughout her career, she has tackled effectively the significant and complex challenges facing the organizations she led with a blend of strategic, operational and cultural expertise admired by staff and stakeholders alike. Modeling leadership resiliency and courage, Madye has engaged in implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and developed lasting partnerships as cornerstones for mission success.
She earned a Doctor of Management degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Previously, she served on the national board of Points of Light, and as a special advisor to First Lady Michelle Obama on volunteerism and community service. She was featured in the 5th edition of Understanding Business, and in Extra Mile America: Stories of Inspiration, Possibility, and Purpose by Shawn Anderson. Additionally, Dr. Henson wrote the foreword to Cultural Competence in America's Schools: Leadership, Engagement, and Understanding by Drs. Bruce A. Jones and Edwin Nichols. Currently, she is a member of Leadership Greater Washington (Class of 2010), on the Board of Directors for Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR), on the Community Advisory Board of NBC4, and a member of Women of Color in Community Development (WCCD), among others.
